We had the absolute joy of designing the florals for Araina and Anthony’s beautiful wedding at Big Cedar Lodge, and let me tell you, it was a day filled with love, smiles, and many a chic detail. Their wedding aesthetic was timeless elegance with a healthy dose of fun sprinkled in, and we’re so excited to share the details with you—stunningly captured by Chris Killingsworth Photography.

A Vision of Timeless Sophistication

When we first met Araina she knew she wanted a wedding day that felt elegant and super romantic, but she wasn’t necessarily sure of the details she preferred to get to that final look. Together, we worked as a team with her wedding planner, Sabbie Chic Events, to think through the different wedding elements that stood out to the couple, giving examples along the way so they could envision how their big day might come together.

Their floral color palette of white, blush, and taupe was the perfect blend of classic and modern, beautifully complementing the champagne dresses of her bridesmaids and the dashing navy suits of the groom’s party. Details quickly fell into place once she was able to imagine how things could come together at their venue.

We went all out with lush roses, ranunculus, hydrangea, stock, snapdragons, and scabiosa – all in those dreamy shades of white, blush, and taupe. The result? Florals that made every part of the day feel extra special.

(PS, Do NOT miss the photo of Anthony’s suit below. It’ll easily go down in history as one of our favorites.)

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place at the Garden Chapel at Big Cedar Lodge, a light, bright gem of a venue that gave us the perfect canvas for the floral designs. We created two large altar pieces with flowers spilling out from the tops of columns. These arrangements were the stars of the show (besides the couple, of course) and added a romantic touch to the chapel’s serene setting.

The Reception

After the “I dos,” it was time to head to the Conference Center for the reception. With its warm-toned, rustic decor, we made sure the florals would transition to fit right in. The main focus here was on two things: the cake and the sweetheart table.

A Cake to Remember

Let’s talk about the cake (beautifully made by Tiers by Stephanie). Anthony had one request—a cake that was larger than life and dripping with flowers. The baker knocked it out of the park, and we provided flowers for the cascade of blooms that made this cake quite the showstopper.

Not to be outdone, the sweetheart table was decked out with a floor-length garland of greenery and flowers, creating a perfect frame for the happy couple. Pillar arrangements on either side added some drama, while the guest tables featured a mix of white, blush, and taupe arrangements in chic white ceramic bowls, or a cluster of elegant bud vases holding white and blush roses.

Working with Araina and Anthony was an absolute delight. Araina trusted us every step of the way, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Their wedding was a beautiful blend of sophistication and fun, and we were so honored to be a part of their special day.

KIND WORDS

From start to finish Queen City Blooms was so professional. Alex did a wonderful job educating me about each flower and color. It was something fun working with her. Everything came together so well. My wedding was so elegant and filled with flowers everywhere! (just like I asked).
