An Intimate September Wedding at Big Cedar Lodge | Ridgedale, Missouri

September is one of those funny months where it may be a million degrees outside feeling like summer to the max, or it may be delightfully brisk and feel 100% like fall. When planning florals for their wedding, Amanda and Jack wanted to take this transitional season into consideration, making it a huge part of their overall wedding vibe.

They wanted rich, earthy florals with bright pops of salmon and coral as a way to transition between the two seasons. We included unique mustard roses and mums to welcome that autumn aesthetic, alongside vivid coral ranunculus and spray roses as a tip-of-the-cap to summertime.

The Ceremony

Amanda and Jack's ceremony took place at The Chapel of the Ozarks at Top of the Rock, overlooking a stunning view of Table Rock Lake. We created a horse shoe shape of flower petals where the two would be married, and once they arrived inside the petal arc, their moms finished sprinkling the petals to create a perfect circle around the couple. We thought this was such a cool and meaningful way to involve their moms in the ceremony.

The Reception

While the original plan was to have a larger-scale wedding, the couple made the hard choice to scale way back on the guest list due to COVID, and the intimate result was beyond charming. They had one long table where all of the guests sat, and we covered it in flowers and candles. Talk about an ambiance!

The reception at The Worman House opened up to a beautiful patio with the prettiest fountain. We created a large floral installation at the base of the fountain for an extra romantic vibe as everyone danced the night away.

The patio + fountain + incredible view combo made us feel like we were in Europe somewhere. A nice little "getaway" in the midst of a pandemic! [Insert wink emoji here.] This intimate wedding at Big Cedar Lodge was one for the books, and proof that good things are happening in 2020 even with all of the unexpected roadblocks.
