Vibrant Wedding Flowers for a Spring Wedding in Kansas City

This past April, we had the absolute pleasure of bringing such a special wedding to life at The Austin in downtown Kansas City, MO. With a vibrant color palette and quintessential spring blooms like tulips and ranunculus, this wedding was a true celebration of love and happiness, beautifully captured by Molly Hoffman. The cheerful yet chic vibe seamlessly blended with the urban setting, creating an unforgettable day for the happy couple and their guests.

The Venue: The Austin in Downtown Kansas City

Located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, The Austin is a breathtaking venue that combines modern elegance with an industrial aesthetic. Its sophisticated architecture and stunning interiors provided the perfect backdrop for this vibrant spring wedding. The natural light pouring through the large windows highlighted the colorful floral arrangements, creating a romantically lit space that came alive with color and spring sentiment.

The Color Palette: Bold and Beautiful

For this wedding, the couple chose a color palette that was as fun as their personalities. Shades of pink, orange, yellow, purple, and a touch of light blue were the stars of the show, creating a joyful atmosphere. These vibrant colors perfectly complemented the spring season and added a touch of playful elegance to the overall aesthetic of their day.

The Flowers: Colorful Blooms Galore

Spring is a season of renewal and beauty, and nothing captures that spirit better than tulips and ranunculus. These quintessential spring blooms were added throughout the floral arrangements, along with coral, pink, and orange roses bringing a burst of color and freshness to every element of the wedding. Combine those with playful pops of yellow through tiny chamomile flowers and textural solidago, and you’ve got one cheerful floral recipe.

Bridal Bouquet

The bride carried a stunning bouquet filled with colorful, ruffle-y roses, goldenrod, salmon ranunculus, light blue delphinium, and delicate white accents. The vibrant hues and soft textures of the flowers created a striking bouquet that perfectly matched the bride’s chic and cheerful demeanor.

The Ceremony

For the ceremony, we created a floral arch adorned with bold spring blooms, as if they were standing amidst a (vertical) English garden. The arch framed the couple beautifully as they exchanged vows, and the vibrant colors provided a romantic setting for their special moment. We also lined the aisle with arrangements of tulips, roses, snapdragons, and more, adding a pop of color and a touch of garden elegance to the walk down the aisle.

The Reception

The reception at The Austin couldn’t help but make you smile. Each table featured a unique centerpiece with coordinating wedding blooms and complementary spring flowers. The beautiful colors and varied heights of the arrangements added depth and interest to each tablescape, creating an inviting atmosphere for the celebration. Textural glassware made for a gorgeous detail on guest tables, and lots of candles on the head table and guest tables added to the romantic ambiance.

Dances were shared. Heartfelt toasts were given. (Gluten free) Cake was eaten. And the head table included the newlyweds with their parents sitting on either side of them. (Seriously, how precious!!) A really special day for a great couple.
