An Urban Wedding in Downtown Kansas City

This past summer we trekked up north for Diane and Sandy's gorgeous urban wedding in downtown Kansas City. Their nuptial celebration took place in the heart of KC at The Bauer, a beautiful event space with exposed brick walls and all the modern charm of an old-industrial-building-turned-wedding-venue.

Diane and Sandy exchanged vows in front of tall, airy windows overlooking the Crossroads District, a hoppin' part of town with lively restaurants and eclectic boutiques. It was a sunny, cheerful day, and the greenery hanging from the white chairs, plus the softness of the floral arbor were wonderful complements to the raw vintage vibes of the room itself.

We selected a variety of eucalyptus types to highlight the sage color the couple loved, plus soft dusty miller for a juxtaposition in texture. Lush peach Juliet garden roses, ruffly antique carnations, lavender, light purple stock, apricot ranunculus, and strawflower were added to the mix for a range of pleasant pastel colors and textural interest.

Diane and Sandy both looked stunning in their elegant wedding attire. We could not get over Diane's star-studded half-up, and let's all just take a moment to really soak in HER INCREDIBLE LACE DRESS. It's just... beyond.

The reception space included chic white linens and chairs, paired with wooden chargers, an array of clear glassware in different shapes and lovely soft green napkins. Guest table centerpieces included groups of bud vases with peach and lavender blooms to carry the color palette throughout the room.

A variety of desserts sat atop a pretty wooden table. Their wedding cake was elegant and understated with a few sprigs of greenery and blueberries complementing the textured white frosting.

Guests were greeted by a printed seating chart hanging from the re-purposed ceremony arbor. Such a great way to get maximum use out of unique custom floral elements!

All in all, this day could not have been more beautiful. Soft summery blooms against exposed brick and concrete is something we'll get behind any day of the week. We are absolutely honored to have contributed to this wonderful celebration of love.
