October, with its crisp air and a hint of autumnal magic, sets the stage for weddings that radiate moody elegance. This October wedding in downtown Springfield, Missouri, was a captivating blend of deep burgundy, rich reds, and pristine white, accentuating the season’s unique charm. From the historic chapel ceremony to the classic country club reception, every detail was designed to immerse guests in a world of rich colors, lush florals, and whimsical touches. The Ceremony
Alex and Skyler’s ceremony took place at Christ Episcopal Church right outside the heart of down town Springfield. The Gothic Revival style chapel served as the perfect backdrop for the couple’s vows, and the charm of the historic architecture paired beautifully with the moody color palette. As guests entered, they were greeted by pews lined with burgundy and mauve florals, setting the romantic tone for the day.
The Reception
Hickory Hills Country Club’s ballroom welcomed guests with three distinct styles of lush floral centerpieces. Each table boasted its unique arrangement, weaving together burgundy roses, chrysanthemums, and ranunculus with elegant white anemones, roses, and vintage hydrangea. The result was an intoxicating blend of romance and drama that illuminated the room. To add a touch of whimsy, hand-drawn table markers featuring stunning animal illustrations made guests smile as they found their seats.
As favors, the couple put together treat bags for their guests’ pups, with white pumpkins in the background and some light florals on either side of the treat basket. HOW SWEET to think about their guests’ pets, and the concept was such a fitting tie back to all of the animal illustrations around the room.
As the evening unfolded, the country club’s ballroom transformed into a space of pure enchantment as the fairy lights woven into the floral centerpieces created a romantic ambiance throughout the darkened room.
