A Summer Wedding at Top of the Rock in the Ozarks

A romantic, muted summer floral palette for an August wedding in the heart of the Ozarks.

Mary and Patrick’s late summer wedding at Top of the Rock featured a dreamy mix of pastel wedding florals, cheerful blooms, and thoughtful design that perfectly complemented the stunning chapel and wine cellar. The whimsical yet elegant aesthetic, featured garden-like arrangements filled with summer wedding flowers. Every detail, right down to the bloom tucked into each napkin, helped bring their vision to life.

The Planning Process

When we first sat down with Mary and Patrick to chat about their wedding florals, we knew we were in for something special. They wanted a muted pastel palette that was both colorful and cheerful, perfect for their late summer wedding, but also had to complement the museum-like vibes of their reception space at Top of the Rock.

We mixed things up with tans, dusty mauves, apricots, and purples, then added pops of blush, peach, copper, and gold for a little extra flair. Garden roses stole the show, with locally grown zinnias, lisianthus, and rudbeckia adding that fresh-from-the-garden feel. The whole look captured late summer in all its soft, dreamy glory.

The Big Day

For the ceremony, the bridesmaids rocked floral-patterned dresses (yes, we LOVE floral-on-floral) with flower-packed bouquets to match. We also created a 16-foot garland with whimsical greenery and blooms that draped across the cross, all while overlooking the stunning Table Rock Lake inside the Chapel of the Ozarks. Talk about a view!

The reception took place in The Wine Cellar at Top of the Rock, surrounded by wooden accents, stone fireplaces, and shelves of historic treasures. We wanted the florals to feel right at home, so we designed two types of centerpieces for the long tables: half had garden-like arrangements growing up from the center, while the other half featured lush blooms in footed gold compotes. And just to add a little something extra, each place setting had its own bloom tucked into the napkin. The mix created a fun, eye-catching vibe that was both elegant and playful!
