For the past couple of months we’ve been painting and planning away to prepare for First Friday Art Walk at Beyond Studio. Our exhibit, Brushstrokes & Bouquets, aimed to bring a cheerful spring vibe to down town Springfield during the coldest part of the year.
Beyond Studio is a counseling office and art gallery that sits on the second floor of an old brick building overlooking the hustle and bustle of down town. The walls inside are brightly colored, the furniture is delightfully mis-matched, and the overall aesthetic is incredibly cozy and whimsical. Last Friday, the scent of roses wafted down the stairwell to greet guests as they shook off the cold. The show included 30 floral watercolor paintings, as well as market-style bouquets, a table full of small bud vase arrangements, and a hanging floral installation for guests to take photos in front of.
The night was full of smiles, people coming and going, and talk of what we love most: flowers.
Thank you so much to everyone who came out last weekend. It meant the world to us. Thank you, also, to the women of Beyond Studio for hosting us. We had such a wonderful night and can’t wait to do it again.
